HOW DOES GOOGLE WORK

Google is the king of search and an absolute necessity if you want your website to be found. Most do not know what they actually do, or how it works. Here we will try to demystify it a bit by pulling back the curtain. There is a reason that the Internet is referred to as the “web.” If you try to visualize the web it is an intricate group of links and paths. Google follows each link, from one site to another. There are three main components to Google Search: a crawler, an algorithm, and an index. Search engines like Google follow links. They follow links from one web page to another. Google consists of three major components: a crawler, an index, and an algorithm. The  crawler  literally “crawls” around the Internet every second of every day and saves an HTML version of every single web page it finds in an enormous database called the  Index . If the Crawler ever finds an updated or a new page it saves that version. How often your site is crawled will vary...

CONTENT MARKETING EXPLAINED

Content marketing sounds more complicated than it really is; at least at a 30,000-foot view. I was discussing content marketing with a new client, and he was not clear on what it was. In an earlier meeting with him, he had told me he came across one of our blogs some time ago. He then subscribed to our newsletter because he felt that most of the blog articles were informative and helped to explain things without trying to sell something. I explained that this is what content marketing is all about. Content marketing is the creation of content, which is informational, educational, made easy to understand but it should not be about the products and or services a company sells. Providing concrete information that is well written builds one's brand. It strengthens brand loyalty and reinforces a company’s reputation for being knowledgeable. An audience will continue to come back to learn more as you provide them with pertinent information and when the time comes to buy, you will remai...

Yet even more users do not even know what core vitals are.   LET’S START FROM THE BEGINNING: WHAT ARE WEB VITALS? Web Vitals were started by Google to improve user experience. It allows businesses and developers to see how their website measures and compares to other websites by zeroing in on core metrics. Google has various amount of resources and ways to view data to see how their website is performing. However, all these resources can sometimes be complicated and overwhelming. That’s why streamlining the information into three key metrics allows the website owner to see what to prioritize in terms of improvement. Plus, at the end of the day, the goal is always to improve user experience, so wouldn’t it make sense for Google to focus on metrics that do just that? THE CORE WEB VITALS These key metrics, or core web vitals, are applicable to al...

WHAT IS A BROWSER CACHE, AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

We have all heard about a cache, usually in terms of things like a secret cache of weapons. It means placing things in storage of something that may be useful in the future. That is exactly what a browser cache is, but it stores website assets. When you visit a website, the browser takes parts of that page and stores them on your computer’s hard drive. This can include things like images, logos, pictures, HTML, and other code from that page. Basically, parts of the page that do not usually change from one site visit to the next .  This is done so that when you return to the page, these stored assets do not have to be downloaded for you to see them; they get called from your hard drive. Depending on your browser and its settings, this could be stored for up to a year. IS POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA WORTH THE HASSLE?

Social Media has become an essential and addicting conglomerate for individuals, businesses, groups, and organizations to share aspects of their lives. Through a multitude of different platforms, people can share every detail - from big life milestones, such as weddings or the birth of their children, to trivial details, such as where they ate their last meal and why the appetizer was or wasn’t good. This can become quite overwhelming, especially for businesses. As an individual, you can choose to not post often, not follow many people, not engage in certain platforms, and even just take a break from it all together. However, businesses do not have the same luxury. While they can technically do all those things, businesses worry that doing so may harm them and give their competitors an advantage. Therefore, they are forced to continue to keep up with it all. They follow many people and some key organizations. They may even look at similar organizations to follow some of th...

LOCATION-BASED ADVERTISING MADE EASY GEOFENCING

Geofencing is when we create a geographic area that will target mobile users (that have location services turned on). When these users enter the targeted area, they are pinged and eligible to be served an ad. This helps reach customers of competitors and new clients who are looking for a product or service like yours. You can digitally set up target zones throughout our geofencing map, marking competitor locations, popular destinations, tradeshows, and wherever else consumers may be visiting. By drawing a digital fence around their building, you’ll be able to target mobile devices that enter the designated area. The audience is collected by our technology, and they will be served display ads while in the geofenced area and for up to 30-days after leaving the geofenced area. This changes the marking from having to find new customers to having them come to you. You can do this through advertising, deals, and promotions. Although this seems like common knowledge, many business owners tend to neglect customer loyalty. They either assume not much work needs to be done to keep customer lifetime value high, or they become too consumed with trying to obtain new customers that they forget the old ones. No matter what the case may be, it is clear that customer loyalty is an integral part of a business’s growth. More businesses,...
